I was planning a birthday party for my daughter, who was turning sixteen and needed some suggestions. My friend found quite a few party accessories and supplies online for her daughters celebration. So, I decided to check it out. It was surprising to find so many ideas for party supplies for the tables and little gifts. I ran across some pretty neat ideas for her birthday celebration. I found these cute little cookie cutters in the shape of the number 16 and use it to make cookies for the party.
Since it was her birthday, I let her decide what she wanted and she decided to party at the roller rink and have her friends stay overnight. I immediately got on the phone and reserved tables at the local roller rink. Next, came the invitations for all of her closest girl friends. It wasn’t nearly as expensive as I thought it would be. They had a great package deal for birthday parties, with pizza, hot dogs and refreshments. The party was to continue at our house after the skating, so I had to get everything ready. I put up decorations, fixed a table with a few goodies to snack on, along with the sweet 16 cookies I prepared earlier.
The cookie cutters wasn’t the only thing I ordered online. Since this birthday party wasn’t costing me what I thought it would, I decided to order a few sweet sixteen favors for the girls. I ordered some adorable pink photo albums for all the girls, and disposable cameras for them to take pictures of the party. I gave them the cameras before we left for the roller rink, but they had no idea about the albums until later. Even though they took a lot of photos at the roller rink, they all saved some picture taking for the sleepover.
One of the favors was a cosmetic bag that had each girls initial on the front button. The cosmetic bags were just the beginning, I also bought manicure sets and purse mirrors for each of the girls. I also sat out these adorable little favor boxes I bought online that were filled with candies for each guest. As soon as we got home, we celebrated with a sweet sixteen idea with cake and ice cream and she opened all of her presents. There were plenty of snacks and drinks, girlie teen movies for them to watch, so they were good to go for the evening. After they got tired of dancing to their favorite tunes, they decided to give make overs and manicures to each other. You could tell they were all having a fantastic time.
Finally, things started to quiet down and they broke out the popcorn and movies. I wanted to give them as much space as I could and not intrude on their girl time, but I got an invitation to join them for a movie. I thought that was so sweet of them to ask. After the second movie, one by one, they started falling asleep. Now it was down to just me and my daughter and she didn’t make it very long. But before she passed out, she thanked me for giving her such a great party.
The next morning the girls were up before I was and had already had their breakfast and cleaned up from last nights festivities. It was really sweet of the girls to do that. Most of the girls went home after a couple hours of hanging out with my daughter. Each of the girls said they had a great time at the party and they loved the favors for sweet sixteen I got them. I like that my daughter and her friends now consider me to be a cool mom.
