Today, we have watch jewelry boxes, earring jewelry boxes, other types of boxes for jewelry, but years ago, pretty much everything was put into standard jewelry boxes. There are a lot of very decorative ideas for the many different types of boxes. The women who stood up in my daughter’s wedding all got a jewelry box from her, and she picked one out for herself as well. In fact, she found even more than that when she went shopping online for all of her wedding accessories and reception supplies. They have some pretty nice suggestions for wedding decors, from traditional to themed. Prince Charming and his lovely princess was the theme that my daughter and her fiance went for. They pulled it off in stunning fashion, her with long flowing veil and him with his extravagant tuxedo. It was a picturesque wedding. They left the wedding chapel in style, with a man in a tall white hat and long tails on his coat driving them away in a horse drawn carriage.
At the reception, tulle with tiny white lights was draped in a circle and there were elegant flower vases placed everywhere around the room. Behind the bride and groom table was a floral arch of red and white roses and green foilage and there were beautiful flower bouquets on the reception tables with silver sparkles scattered about. The reception tables twinkled even more with the silver tea light dove place card holders she selected. The small jewelry boxes each woman at the wedding got as a favor had crystals and flowers beautifully interwoven in their design. All the guys got a key chain with a frog wearing a crown and royal robe on them, which represented the infamous frog prince. The girls that were in the wedding party got gorgeous wooden, silver plated cheap jewelry boxes that had black velvet lining. Each box had the name and of the bride and groom and the wedding date etched in them. The thank you gift my daughter gave the girls was very warmly received. The jewelry box she got them looked very nice, but it was in fact a wholesale jewelry box and I had one like it myself for a long time. Each of the groomsmen received a set of wine gifts and their names etched in a tiny plaque. Those were great, one of a kind thank you gifts, in my opinion.
Her wedding cake topper was a really unique little dream castle that really showed off the lovliness of their three tiered wedding cake. The cake knife set and champagne glasses meshed perfectly together with the cake. I couldn’t believe all the super accessories she got and it didn’t cost her anywhere near what I thought it would cost. They were firm about the fact that they did not want us to cover the bills from the wedding even though, as parents of the bride, we made it clear to them that we expected to pay for everything.
I cried as I watched them dance their first dance as husband and wife, it looked as if they were the only ones in the room. It was as if I were watching the real prince and princess in the Cinderella story dancing together. The guys got so rowdy trying to catch the garter, during the garter toss, that they had me laughing to no end. My daughter’s wedding day was as magical as she imagined it would be, and the whole thing was so special. Now they are on a honeymoon she’s always dreamed of. I can hardly wait for them to get back and tell me all about the fantastic sights they saw.
