We were planning a big Valentine hearts wedding in February, which meant I had a lot to take care of before then and it was already November. It takes a while to get everything together and make sure you have everything from invitations to heart favors for you guests. I wanted this to be a heart wedding ceremony everyone would talk about for a long time to come. I went online and started checking out all the decorations and accessories I could find for both the ceremony and the reception. I was amazed at all the lovely things I found and they even had special package deals on some of the accessories, like guestbooks, pen sets, flower baskets and more. I’m glad I took a look at what they had before running from shop to shop.
But that was only the beginning, after I mailed out the invitations I had to start planning the décor and ordering the supplies I would need. On each of the pews I had big red velvet bows with ribbon strung from one pew to the next. At the altar were candelabras and our beautiful unity candle with the heart of little roses on the front. We used red roses all over the wedding ceremony, like in my bouquet, where they were mixed with pink roses, and throughout the church. I even went as far as to have caged doves to be released as we exited the church.
Everyone had their wedding attire taken care of, including our little flower girl and ring boy. I picked out a white satin basket that had bows and lace decorating it for our flower girl. For the ring boy to carry down the aisle I ordered a gorgeous white double hearts wedding pillow with the two gold hearts entwined, and a white satin ribbon for the rings. My flower girl was going to wear a small tiara, and it was very similar in appearance to the one I had picked out for myself. She wore a pretty pink dress, made for a flower girl, and she did such a wonderful job as a flower girl and looked so brilliant that I thought she did look like royalty. With his tiny tuxedo and red boutonniere, the ring bearer boy did as good of a job and he looked just as adorable. He carried the ring pillow like a pro and kept in step with the rest of the wedding party. I was very glad that I chose to include both of them.
The centerpieces we had made up for the reception dinner had tiny hearts intermixed with roses that were white, pink, and red. I got a place card holder that was the prettiest I had ever seen for each place setting, and two hearts wedding candles that made it feel like love was in the air. The wedding favors we got our guests should be a terrific souvenir from our wedding; they had handles in the shape of a heart attached to tiny silver bells. There were frosting hearts all around the bottom layer of our wedding cake, and each layer was decked out in pink and red roses all around. On top sat our very special keepsake hearts wedding cake topper made of white porcelain, which looked so elegant with all the other cake decorations.
Everything at our wedding and reception was the perfect picture of a true valentines day wedding with all the hearts and flowers imaginable. I feel fortunate that I was able to use the Internet to the extent that I did because it made everything much more efficient.
